To lock it, make sure it is fully closed. It can be a bit difficult when very hot. PLEASE, DON’T FORCE THE LATCH
Alexa
We have 2 voice-controlled Alexa assistants – dining room and living room.
Music
You can connect to these 2 speakers by saying: Alexa Bluetooth, and pairing with your cellphone using the device: Echo Dot-N2F.
In the living room, be sure the bouton is set on ALEXA to use de speakers and control the volume with the large manual button.

If you need to use the vacuum cleaner, it is in the storage area of the corridor

Air conditioning
1st floor
We have 2 highly efficient heat pump units. We suggest using them as needed. For maximum power, use the BOOST function.
The controls are located:
2nd floor
Master bedroom air conditioning on the 2nd floor:
- The control is located next to the lamp
- Do not let the curtain cover the unit
- Close the door.
Unfortunately, cool air cannot reach the other room due to obstacles (door frame, corridor, etc.). However, feel free to use the fans.
Hot water pump
A pump that distributes hot water quickly throughout the house is operational between 6 AM and midnight. If you need it outside of this period.
Shower and bath
1st floor
The temperature controller is a bit tricky.
Be careful not to get confused with the positions, or you’ll get wet!
2nd floor
3 positions :
Garbage-Recycling-Compost
There are 3 separate bins for garbage, recycling, and compost.
WARNING: Do not put any organic material in the garbage, otherwise there will be fruit flies. Use the compost bin for:
- All table scraps
- Bones
- Paper towels
- Food-soiled cardboard (e.g., pizza boxes)
When the bins are full, please place them outside in the respective containers. If they are full, please only put the garbage and recycling bags and the brown bin for compost:
Monday night: garbage and recycling
Tuesday night: compost
Plants
Thank you for watering our outdoor plants with the hose set to the SHOWER position if you have the chance.
Stove
The stove is a convection one. It heats pans and pots that are magnetic. The front burners have very high power. Please stay prepared when using them on HI.
Dishwasher
If you accidentally open the dishwasher door while it’s running, just press START and close it again.
Television
We have a Disney+ subscription.
- Say: Alexa, turn on television
- If that doesn’t work, the On/Off button is on the right side.
- Take the small black remote.
- Make your selection.
Umbrella
The umbrella is on wheels. You can move it for dinner if you want shade.
Please close it every evening.
Parking
Some spots available to the NORTH of the house WITHOUT permit. On the WEST side, cleaning on MONDAY BETWEEN 9 AM AND 11 AM.
Renting cars
Avis :Notice: ask to speak to Claudie (she’s super nice!) 514-787-0853 or walk there 7735 Boul. Saint-Laurent, Montréal, QC H2R 1X1. Claudie sometimes has resources OTHER than what is posted on the web.
Turo :
is the Aribnb of cars, i.e. individuals like you and me who rent out their own car. You can take the steps remotely to have your driver’s license checked beforehand. ATTENTION ! It’s a little less reliable than the rental companies but it works all the same.
